Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. TDAI Faculty Member, Huan Sun, Attracts Funding from Open Philanthropy

TDAI is proud to acknowledge Faculty Member Huan Sun, Computer Science and Engineering Associate Professor, for receiving two competitive research grants from Open Philanthropy to advance AI safety. These are the first Ohio State projects funded by Open Philanthropy’s Call for Technical AI Safety Research. One project will study risks of computer-use agents, AI systems that can misalign with user intentions despite benign input. The other will investigate limitations of transformer models, including reasoning challenges and the “reversal curse,” to develop better safeguards. Earlier this year, Sun also earned support from Schmidt Sciences for related AI safety research.
