Workshop Support
TDAI members are eligible to submit proposals for funds and in-kind staff assistance to host workshops, ideas labs, and other activities to develop interdisciplinary team research, scholarship and creative expression. Eligible intended outputs include working groups, white papers, and proposals. All topics are welcome, and topics aligned with TDAI's strategic directions are encouraged: AI & Health; Foundations of Data Science and AI; Responsible AI and Data Science; and AI for Environment and Sustainability.
Award components
- Up to $5,000 for speaker and participant costs
- Use of 350 Pomerene Hall
- In kind services:
- Logistics assistance
- Extramural proposal development
- Professional facilitation
Deadline
The deadline for workshop awards is rolling. Proposals are processed as they are received, reviewed by TDAI leadership, and awarded for as long as budget permits.
How to apply
TDAI members can apply by emailing the following to TDAI Director of Research Strategy Jenny Grabmeier at grabmeier.3@osu.edu:
- Description of the topic (200 words max)
- Description of the proposed activity (100 words max)
- Purpose and intended outcomes and outputs for the activity (100 words max)
- Proposed time frame
- List of proposed speakers and invited participants
- Itemized budget and purpose for requested funds and in-kind resources
Eligibility Requirements
- PIs must be TDAI members with PI status. Proposals submitted by researchers who are not associated with TDAI will not be reviewed or returned.
- Workshop topics must span two or more intellectually distinct disciplines and have clear and articulated data science and/or AI aspects.
