Data Science Spotlight: Harnessing AI to fill global shortfalls in biodiversity knowledge

Core faculty members Tanya Beger-Wolf and Marta Jarzyna are co-authors of a new paper titled "Harnessing Artificial Intelligence to Fill Global Shortfalls in Biodiversity Knowledge".  

While substantial progress has been made utilizing AI in the biodiversity space, the authors note a huge gap between what is being done currently and what could potentially be done in the future. Specifically, they note seven shortfalls to address moving forward. 

"This paper wouldn’t have been possible without a truly interdisciplinary team," said Berger-Wolf.
