TDAI Launches a Bold New Year of Research at Annual Kickoff Event
On August 21, 2025, the Translational Data Analytics Institute (TDAI) at The Ohio State University welcomed faculty, researchers, and community members to its Annual Research Kickoff, opening a new year of discovery and collaboration in data science and AI.
The event brought together TDAI members and partners from across campus to explore new initiatives, research services, funding programs, and strategic priorities for 2025–26. Attendees were introduced to TDAI’s faculty fellows and joined a campus-wide welcome for Ohio State’s newest faculty working in AI and data science.
Highlights of the program included:
- An overview from Tanya Berger-Wolf on TDAI’s direction for the year ahead.
- An introduction to one of TDAI’s yearlong themes, The Geometrization of AI, from Dena Asta.
- An overview of the second yearlong theme, Joint Human-AI Systems in an Agentic World, from Mike Rayo.
- A presentation on the upcoming AI for Research Workshop Series from Zoe Duan.
The kickoff also emphasized TDAI’s role as a hub for connection, collaboration, and innovation. As the institute continues to grow, members are invited to share their research visions, spark new collaborations, and contribute to shaping the future of data science and AI at Ohio State.
With fresh initiatives and a vibrant community, TDAI is poised for an exciting year of research and impact.
