TDAI co-leading first NSF workshop on translational data science

TDAI and the University of Chicago’s Center for Data Intensive Science are co-chairing an NSF-sponsored Translational Data Science Workshop June 26-27 in Chicago. The invitation-only event is designed to build a scientific community around the principle of applying data science principles, techniques, and technologies to problems in various domains to positively impact human or societal welfare. TDS17 Workshop attendees will work together as a group to start a white paper on translational data science and finish it within the following eight weeks.

TDS17 Workshop Themes:

  1. What is translational data science?
  2. What are some success stories in translational data science?
  3. What are some models for translation that have proved successful?
  4. What are some challenges, opportunities, and high priority areas in translational data science?
