TDA affiliate Mario Peruggia, professor of statistics, was named an editor of Bayesian Analysis, the official journal of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis, by the journal’s new editor-in-chief. According to ISBA, “the journal welcomes submissions involving presentation of new computational and statistical methods; critical reviews and discussions of existing approaches; historical perspectives; description of important scientific or policy application areas; case studies; and methods for experimental design, data collection, data sharing, or data mining.”
Peruggia is an expert in Bayesian modeling and prediction. His recent work focuses on methodological issues concerning the impact of modeling assumptions on the quality of model fit. Along with collaborators in statistics and psychology, he also develops statistical models for cognitive processes involved in simple decision-making tasks.
