CIE Summer Session: Winning the Talent War
Time: 9 a.m. - noon
Date: July 18, 2017
Location: Fawcett Center

Fisher College of Business’ Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is hosting a summer session entitled “Winning the Talent War” that is designed to help participants, regardless of industry or role, navigate major issues confronting leaders today.

Description: The U.S. workforce is at a turning point, with significant change ahead. Millennials are now the largest generation in the workplace. Constant technological leaps are rewriting the rules for the skill sets that matter. What does this mean for organizations trying to attract top talent? How do workforce trends affect ongoing efforts to build an innovative culture?

Gain insights from three compelling angles:

The Big Picture: Brookings Institution fellow Marek Gootman will unveil results of an exclusive work-force survey conducted in conjunction with the National Center for the Middle Market on large-scale shifts in work-force dynamics.

The Ground War: Engage in Q&A with four leaders from major Ohio-based companies:

  • Tony Moore, head of talent acquisition, Marathon Petroleum
  • Will Shepherd, director of enterprise learning & development, Wendy’s
  • Kathy Smith, VP talent development, Nationwide
  • Kelly Wilson, VP HR-talent management, Cardinal Health (photo, right)

The Pipeline: Jamie Mathews-Mead, senior director of graduate career management at Fisher, closes out the session with a look at how the college is preparing students and how to partner with Ohio State to best meet companies’ rapidly evolving needs.

Cost is $95. Includes a networking lunch.
